Janet R. Haney
Clearfield: Janet R. Haney, 90, of Clearfield passed away Thursday January 29, 2026 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield after a brief illness.
Born July 10, 1935 in Mahaffey she was the daughter of Mazie McCarty. She was a 1953 graduate of Clearfield Area High School. She was an operator for Bell Telephone for over 25 years. She had also worked at Leitzinger’s Department Store in Clearfield for numerous years.
She had attended CMA Church in Clearfield for many years and also attended Centre Grove United Methodist Church in Hyde. For many years along with her husband she enjoyed square dancing and line dancing. They were members of the County Crew Dance Club and entertained at various venues throughout the area.
Janet is survived by three children: Laurel Haney of Warren, PA, Randy Haney (Rena’) of Coalport, PA, and Brenda Ickes (Mark) of Hershey. Four grandchildren: Bridget Rizzardi (Ryan), Molly Flynn-Brown (Justin), Matthew Haney, and James Haney. Four great grandchildren: Cole Haney, Jaxson Haney, Marta Brown, and Callum Brown; and a special friend Markie Sicheri. And numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Haney whom she wed on October 10, 1954 in Mahaffey and preceded her in death on June 9, 2022. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers and sisters Elanor Jones, Marian Maines, Jean Rager, Lois Griffin, Audrey Kromer, Chester Rager, Laird Rager, and Charles Rager.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville with Mr. Jim Kane officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery in Glen Richey.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Centre Grove United Methodist Church 110 Village Road, Clearfield, PA 16833.
