Pittsburgh: Janice E. Guiher 62 of Grampian passed away Thursday May 30, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.


Born December 7, 1961 in Philipsburg she was the daughter of James and Janet (Baer) Carns. She was a 1979 graduate of Moshannon Valley Area High School. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Berg Electronics in Clearfield. She was a member of Hepburnia Church of Faith.


On November 6, 1982 in Glen Hope, PA she wed Allen Guiher who survives of Grampian along with a daughter Janea Schreckengost (Zach) of West Decatur, PA. a granddaughter Adrianna Schreckengost, and her mother Janet Carns of Madera. A brother James “Jim” Carns Sr. (Lois) of Grampian, and a sister Rena Haney (Randy) of Coalport. Several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother Edward “Ed” Carns.


Funeral services will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 11 AM with Reverend Rick Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Grampian.


Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday June 4, 2024 from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM till the time of services at 11 AM.


The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
