Obituary for Joann Bonsall Rancik
Joann Rancik, 81, of Grampian, passed away Saturday January 8, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, West.

Born December 18, 1929 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Oscar and Etoil (Russell) Bonsall.  She was a 1948 graduate of Clearfield Area High School.  After graduation she was employed first by the prothonotary office in the Clearfield County Courthouse for 2 years.  She then was employed by Sears Catalogue from 1968 thru 1973, and then from 1974 until her retirement in 1997 she was the manager of The Progress Office in Curwensville.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian and was a member of the WSCS of the church.

On May 10, 1950 in Grampian, she wed Thomas E. Rancik who survives along with a daughter Terry Eileen Gill and husband Ed of Camp Hill.  Also surviving are 2 grandaughters Karen Marie Gilbert and husband Ben of Mechanicsburg and Kathleen Ann Gill of Camp Hill.  Two great grandsons Kevin Lee and Aydan Joshua Gilbert of Mechanicsburg as well as a brother Gary Bonsall of Grampian also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Bonsall, two infant brothers, and an infant sister.

Services for Mrs. Rancik will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at 2 PM, with the Reverend Emmett Anderson officiating.  Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery Grampian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday January 11 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 12 Noon until time of services.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Sixth Street Grampian, PA 16838
