Obituary for Joanne Spencer
Joanne Spencer, 75, of Grampian, passed away Tuesday February 21, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Hepburnia. Born July 14, 1936 in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of Samuel M. Leonard and Mary Belle Clark. Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Hyde Wesleyan Church.  On July 6, 1953 in Rockton, PA, she wed Donald Spencer who preceded her in death on January 14, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Donald Spencer Jr., 2 grandsons Donald Lee Hale and Matthew Prisk, a daughter-in-law Teresa Spencer and a brother David Leonard. She was the last member of her generation. Surviving are 5 children: Mona Coulter and husband Thomas of Hepburnia, Sherry Prisk of Regalsville, Michael Spencer of Grampian, Susan Bowman and husband Jeffrey of Curwensville, and Joseph Spencer and wife Dana of Gazzam.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. At the request of Mrs. Spencer, there will be no public visitation and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian. The family suggests contributions be made to the Hyde Wesleyan Missions Riverview Drive Clearfield, PA 16830. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.chidboyfuneralhome.com.  The Chester C.
