Joanne (Jasper) Wills, 93, of Curwensville, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Penn Highlands DuBois after a brief illness.
Born on November 27, 1930, in Blain City, Coalport, she was the daughter of David and Velma (Sinclair) Jasper. She was a graduate of BCI and had worked for Superior Pet, Inc., retiring from the Curwensville Area School District.
She is survived by three children: Robert “Bobby” Wills (JoAnn) and Rick Wills (Pam), both of Curwensville, and Melissa Eiler (Brent) of Salisbury, MD; daughter-in-law Kathy Wills of Curwensville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis “Belle” Belin (Gary) of Curwensville.
In 1949, she married Robert W. Wills, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by two beloved children, Mary Louise Cribbs and Dennis Wills; brothers Clair, Jerry, Robert, David, and Thomas; and sisters Imogene McCullough and Amelia Cossick.
Joanne was a woman of faith and was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as Mom, Gram, Grandmother, and Joni to her family. A strong and independent woman, she held high expectations for everyone around her. She believed in and expected her family to obtain a good education and work hard in all their endeavors. She looked forward to visits from family and appreciated her neighbors on Anderson Street. Known for her homemade cooking and pies, she instilled wonderful family values in her children and grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Stephen Shields officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
