Obituary for John Allen Rickard Sr.
John Allen Rickard Sr., 84, of Olanta, passed away Sunday July 3, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born May 22, 1937 in Glasgow, PA, he was the son of Luther Deuwain and Mary Catherine (Helsel) Rickard. Mr. Rickard was retired as a Maintenance/Mechanic for the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He was a US Army Air Corp/US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving is a son John A. Rickard Jr. of Curwensville, a daughter Jennifer Merritts and husband Dale of Berwinsdale; two grandchildren Ronald Queen Jr. and wife Gloria of Grampian and Brittany Queen of Berwinsdale; two great grandchildren Tessa and Colton Queen; and a brother Raymond Rickard and wife Diane of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother L. Deuwain Rickard Jr., and two sisters Donna Bennett and Charlotte Rickard.
Funeral Services for John Rickard Sr. will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday July 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fallentimber, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.
