John E. McFadden
John E. McFadden, 93, of Curwensville, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, he was the son of W. Scott and Pearl (Curry)McFadden.
A 1950 graduate of Curwensville High School, John married Margaret Bloom on September 26, 1953, at John’s Lutheran Church.
John worked as a milkman for more than 45 years, retiring from Galliker’s Dairy of Johnstown.
He was a lifelong member of Curwensville United Methodist Church, where he was active in Sunday School, served as a trustee, and was a faithful usher. For over 56 years, he participated in the church’s Christmas pageant, The Search for Peace.
John was also active in his community. He was a member of the Curwensville Rotary Club and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He served on the Oak Hill Cemetery board and was involved with the Curwensville Public Library. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
An avid sports fan, John enjoyed Little League baseball, golfing, and bowling. He was especially passionate about the Curwensville Golden Tide, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Margaret, his grandson, Cory Joe Milliron. And sisters Judy Johnson, and Doris Kolbe.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill Milliron and her husband Joe of McKinney,
Texas; and his son, Rob McFadden and his wife Sally of Huntsville, Alabama.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: The Honorable Nathan Milliron of Houston, Texas; Matt Milliron and his wife Brittany of Frisco, Texas; Lacey Reynolds and her husband Andrew of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Brett McFadden of Huntsville, Alabama.
John was blessed with three great-grandsons: Parker Milliron, Cade Milliron, and Cooper Reynolds.
He is also survived by a sister Betty Barkley of Clearfield.
The family would like to recognize John’s longtime companion, Maxine Cole of Curwensville, as well as his dear friends at Park Avenue Towers.
Funeral services for John McFadden will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 1 PM with Pastor Don Smith, and Rev. John White co-officiating. Interment will be held in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received at the church on Tuesday May 13, 2025 from 11 AM till the time of services at 1 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville United Methodist Church 602 State Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
