John J. Leonard
Pittsburgh: John J. Leonard 78, of Curwensville passed away Sunday October 26, 2025 at UPMC Shady Side, Pittsburgh after a brief illness.
Born January 30, 1947 in Clearfield he was the son of James R. and Anne E. (Katchmarchic) Leonard. He was a 1965 graduate of Curwensville High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 632 in Grampian. And was catholic by faith.
He had worked at Tafco as a welder and machinist. He also worked as a truck driver. In his later years he was self-employed, with lawn care and known for lawn mower repairs. He enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching Grit TV, and Channel 3 WPSU. He also enjoyed making various decorations for display outside his home during the holidays.
He is survived by siblings: Nancy Duffalo, of DuBois, Louise Delio of Falls Creek, Tom Leonard and Patty Johnston of Curwensville. A sister in-law Janice Leonard. And numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Stephen “Steve” Leonard. Brothers in law Donald “Duff” Duffalo, Francis Delio, and Eugene “Gene” Johnston.
At the request of Mr. Leonard there will be no public services. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Grampian.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
