Obituary for Karen Helen (Rowles McDonald) Hugney
Karen Helen (Rowles McDonald) Hugney. 82, of Grampian, passed away Monday February 21, 2022 at her residence.

Born March 18, 1939 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Richard Vance “Barney” and Helen (Bloom) Rowles. Mrs. Hugney was a homemaker and also had driven school buses. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and also traveling.

On May 7, 2001 in Williamsburg, KY, she wed August N. “Beef” Hugney who preceded her in death on May 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Mark McDonald, a daughter Cathy McDonald, a grandson Sean McDonald, brothers Nathan and Kenneth Rowles, and a sister Dorothy Knepp.

Surviving are four children: Michael A. McDonald and wife Brenda and Cindy L. McDonald both of Curwensville, Kim Horton and wife Amy of Lumber City, and Renea Horton of Florida.

Also surviving are four grandchildren: Travis McDonald and wife Jessica, Brandon McDonald and companion Elizabeth, Trevor Horton and wife Ashley and Kayla Depto and husband Logan; six great grandchildren: Mia and Madelyn McDonald, Brenlee and Graham Horton, and Quinn and Claire Depto; as well as six siblings: Richard Rowles and Arnold “Arnie Rowles and wife Betty both of Ohio, Theo Hepburn and Ardell Rowles and wife Sally both of New York, Melanie Rowles of Grampian, and Everett Rowles and wife Elaine of South Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church * 461 Main Street * Grampian, PA 16838 on Monday February 28, 2022 at 10:30 AM, with Reverend Father Stephen Collins as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery of Grampian.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. * 300 State Street * Curwensville, PA 16833 on Sunday February 27, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
