Obituary for Kenneth Eugene (Big Bird) Barrett
Kenneth E. “Big Bird” Barrett Sr. 66 of Grampian passed away Saturday February 23, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
 
Born February 18, 1947 in Stronach, Penn Township he was the son of Boyd Wayne and Beulah  (Seger) Barrett.  He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Curwensville.  He worked for various coal mining companies as a truck driver, and as a heavy equipment operator.
 
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles with his ABATE family.  He was a member of ABATE of PA Chapter Chinklacamoose District 5 Chapter 6. He was Road Captain of ABATE from 2012 to Present. He was a former member of Curwensville VFW, Clearfield Eagles Aries #812, and Curwensville Moose. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
 
On June 5, 1965 in Clearfield he wed Nellie “Pat” Galio who survives along with 5 children Jamie Sue Clutter and her husband Rodger of Curwensville, Brenda Lea Bloom and her husband Tim of Stronach,  Toni Polites and her husband Bill of Grampian, Kenneth E. Barrett Jr. and his wife Yvonne of New Millport, and Wayne Anthony Barrett and his wife Krista of West Decatur. 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 2 Sisters Judith Rosborough and her husband James of Luthersburg, JoAnne McCracken and her husband Richard of Lumber City, and 1 brother Randy Barrett and his wife Apryle of  Bells Landing. 2 Step Sisters June Pack and Janet Tapper and her husband Harold all of Jacksonville, FL. Also numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
 
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Step Mother Cora (Davis) Fleming,  an infant sister, 2 step brothers Thomas “Snuffy” Fleming, and Jeff “Flint” Fleming and a step sister Gail Henderson, and an aunt Betty Seger Fritch. 
 
Funeral Services for Mr. Barrett will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 11 AM with Mr. Bud Stiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
 
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday February 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM till the time of services at 11 AM.  The Curwensville L.O.O.M. #268 will conduct Memorial Services Tuesday evening at 6:15 PM at the funeral home.
 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to ABATE in care of The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. 300 state street Curwensville, PA 16833, and The Nathaniel D. Yingling Cancer Center Doctors Drive Clearfield, PA 16830
