Obituary for Kenneth Lee Russell
Kenneth Lee Russell, 79, of Hyde, passed away Friday November 9, 2018 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born October 1, 1939 in Grampian, he was the son of Doyle and Elva (McCracken) Russell. He attende3d Curwensville High School and as a young man, moved to New York and worked in the construction business. He then returned to Pennsylvania and worked in various construction projects including the railroad, the Curwensville Dam and Interstate 80.
He drove truck for McDonald Coal Company for 8 years and then purchased his own truck and did over the road hauling for Pacer Transport Co. of DeSoto, TX for 23 years. After his retirement he drove truck for Russell Stone Products for 15 years.
Surviving is a son Daniel Russell and wife Cynthia of Curwensville, 2 grandsons Nathan and Jordan Russell, both of Curwensville and a granddaughter Megan Makin and husband Ethan of Athens, GA.
Also surviving is a brother Lawrence “Mickey” Russell and his wife Janice of AZ, a sister Susan Truscott and husband Alan of NY, his former wife Elaine (Bressler) Russell of Curwensville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Doyle Russell.
At the request of Mr. Russell, there will be no public visitation.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Friends Cemetery in Grampian, with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Clearfield County S.P.C.A 275 21st Street Clearfield, PA 16830
