Obituary for Leah R. Hile
“The Lady Who Loved Angels, Is Now An Angel”. Leah R. Hile, 93, of Mt. Joy, Clearfield, passed away Monday August 7, 2017 at her residence.
Born May 8, 1924 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Alfred and Georgie (Shaw) Roussey. Mrs. Hile was a homemaker, was a member of the Mr. Joy United Methodist Church, was secretary for the Mt. Joy Cemetery Association and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
On June 1, 1946, she wed Morris C. Hile who preceded her in death on December 25, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her brother Wendell Roussey. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are 4 children: Pauline Read and husband Ray, David Hile and wife Karen and Richard “Rick” Hile and wife Linda all of Clearfield and Edward Hile and wife Christine of Mineral Springs. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, a step great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hile will be held from the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church Mt. Joy Road Clearfield on Saturday August 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Friday August 11, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday at the church from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Mt. Joy Cemetery Association c/o Mr. Dennis Shaffner - President 4843 Spruce Hill Circle Rockton, PA 15856.
