Obituary for Lester Franklin Witherite Sr.
Lester Franklin Witherite Sr., 88, a resident of Clearfield, and formerly of Grampian, passed away Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Born June 19, 1933 in Bells Landing, he was the son of Frank Witherite and Goldie Mae (Hailwell) Witherite Johnston. Mr. Witherite was the Owner/Operator of Witherite and Son Trucking Company and had also Owned and Operated the Witherite Welding Shop. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Ansonville.
He first wed the former Dorothy A. Pentz on September 23, 1950 and who preceded him in death on November 30, 1993. He then wed the former Alma “Wink” (Uplinger) Pentz on May 15, 1994 and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth Ann Hubler.
Surviving are 2 children: Lester F. Witherite and his significant other Deb of Hepburnia and Janice Duttry and husband Tom of Dunedin, FL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Janessa Jannarone, Laney Glenn, Joseph Witherite, Elizabeth Witherite, Michael Witherite, Velvet Hubler, Emmy Leinbach, and Vern Hubler; as well as numerous step grandchildren, half-brothers and half-sisters.
Funeral services for Lester Witherite will be held in the chapel at Friends Cemetery in Grampian, on March 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow, in the cemetery.
