Obituary for Lewis Richard Kline
Lewis Richard Kline, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY and formerly of Curwensville, passed away on July 11, 2017 at Mt. St Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born on November 16, 1934 in Curwensville, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Emma (Robbins) Kline.
Lewis moved to Niagara Falls in 1952 and married his beloved wife, Dorothy Jane (Mack) Kline, in Springville, NY on June 20, 1953. He served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge 1961. Mrs. Kline passed away on August 16, 2015, after spending 61 loving years together. Mr. Kline began working at the former Kimberly Clark, Niatec and Cascades for many years prior to his retirement in 2005. He was also a very successful and well-respected Real Estate agent in the community for over 45 years, retiring in April 2017 as Chief Operating Officer of Great Lakes Reality. In 2011, he was honored by the WNY Board of Realtors as a Realtor Emeritus for his involvement in the business for over 40 years.
Lewis was an avid New York Yankees fan and was quick to recite the smallest detail and stats. He loved baseball and played in many local plant, church and slow-pitch leagues in the area. He was also a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Above all, Lewis enjoyed spending time with his cherished family.
Mr. Kline is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Susan (William) Kline and LuAnn (James) Conte; grandchildren, Steven Kline, Emma (William) Banagis, Holly Conte and Patrick Conte and one-great granddaughter Lena Banagis; siblings, Marie (late Forest) Stephens, William (Alice) Kline and was predeceased by sisters, Jane (late Michael) Pellish and Georgia (Alexander) Pawlukovich. Lewis is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Saturday July 15 from 1 – 5 P.M. at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, where a prayer service will follow at 5 P.M. Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. 300 State Street Curwensville on Monday July17 from 10 to 11 AM. A graveside Funeral Service will be held Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta, PA in Monday July 17 at approx. 11:30 AM, with the Reverend John F. White, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
The Family suggests memorial offerings may be made to the Kline Memorial Scholarship Fund, Attn: Susan Kline, c/o Catholic Academy of N.F., 1055 N. Military Road Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
