Mahlon Alexander Kester, 28, formerly of Grampian, PA, tragically passed away the 14th of October, 2022 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born June 23, 1994 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Robert “Bob” and Bonnie (Mahlon) Kester. He attended Curwensville Area High School, completed two Bachelor’s Degrees from Grove City College (Biblical & Religious studies and Spanish), and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Foreign Language Teaching at Michigan State University. Mahlon was an active member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Senior Airman in the 911th and 927th Airlift Wings. He most recently served as an Aircraft Fuel Technician at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. Mahlon was also the owner of Kester Insurance, a business he established in Central Florida.
Alongside his wife, Melanie (Milliron) Kester, Mahlon was preparing for his first child expected next month. As a husband, soon-to-be-father, colleague, and friend, he was known for his infectious positivity, great sense of humor, a fondness for music and the arts, and his devotion to faith. He was a member of the BLDG 28 Church in Clearwater, FL where a private Celebration of Life Service will be held October 23, 2022.
Mahlon was preceded in death by his maternal Grandmother Shirley (Haag) Mahlon, his maternal Step Grandmother Wilma (Larimore) Mahlon, and his paternal Grandparents Robert and Nellie (Thorp) Kester.
Mahlon is survived by his wife of 4 years, Melanie; his sister Sadie Dickson and husband Joshua as well as their two children Sutton and Ember; his parents Bob and Bonnie Kester; his maternal grandfather Roy E. Mahlon; his two dogs and a large community of friends, co-workers, and fellow military servicemembers.
A scholarship fund for Mahlon and Melanie’s daughter is being established for memorial contributions.
An additional Celebration of Life will be announced in Pennsylvania at a later date.
