Marcia A. (Pentz) Smay


Marcia A. (Pentz) Smay, 78, of Clearfield passed away Sunday March 15, 2026 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.


Born May 24, 1947 in Hepburnia, she was the daughter of Lynn and Mabel (Snyder) Pentz. She was a Curwensville Area High School graduate. She owned and operated Smay Farm along with her husband Clyde. She also worked at Clearfield Cheese Company and County National Bank.


She was a former member of the Grampian Church of God, formerly attended Centre Grove United Methodist Church, and was a current member of Curwensville Alliance Church. She was active with the missions committee at Curwensville Alliance Church she was also a member of the former Susquehanna Grange.


She loved her family.


She is survived by five children: Clyde Smay Jr. of Clearfield, Kim Dimmick (Greg) of Kerrmoor, Cindy Ireland (Tom) of Curwensville, Vonda Evans (Mike) of Clearfield, and Autumn Farley (Randy) of Clearfield. Grandchildren: Shane Smay, Dylan Smay, Jessica Barret, Angela Dimmick, Kris Ireland (Holly), Catherine Evans, Ralph Evans, Jeremiah Farley, Alan Farley, and Ursula Farley. Two great grandchildren Aiden Barrett, and Rowan Smay. A sister Merla “Sis” McCord of Black Moshannon.


On April 20, 1968 in Maryland she wed Clyde G. Smay Sr. who preceded her in death on August 21, 2025. She was also preceded in death by two sons Ted Smay, Garland Smay. A grandson Josh Ireland. Brothers Rev. Howard Pentz, and Edward Pentz.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Smay will be held at the Curwensville Alliance Church on Friday March 20, 2026 at 11 AM with Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Interment will be held in the Crown Crest Cemetery.


Family and friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday March 19, 2026 from 4-7 PM and at the Curwensville Alliance Church on Friday March 20, 2026 from 10 AM till the time of services at 11.


The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Alliance Church, 725 Susquehanna Ave, Curwensville, PA 16833, or Orphans of the Storm, 412 Hill St. Curwensville, PA 16833.
