Obituary for Margaret E. "Sis" Shirey
Margaret E. “Sis” (Bowery) Shirey, 83, wife of Richard L. “Dick” Shirey, of 147 W. South Street, Loganton, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Lock Haven PA.
Born in Curwensville, PA on November 11, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Robert, Sr. and Maryetta (Passmore) Bowery.
She was a graduate of Curwensville High School and for 15 years she was a school bus driver in the Clearfield Area School District.
For many years Sis attended the Loganton Wesleyan Church, Loganton, PA.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading and researching her family genealogy.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Robert Bowery. Jr.
Along with her husband she is survived by three sons, Blair Smeal of Philipsburg, PA, Gene Smeal (Sherrie) of Kerrmore, PA and Lawrence “Pete” Smeal of Loganton, Pa, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 East Main St., Loganton, PA.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chidboy Funeral Home, 300 State St., Curwensville, PA with Rev. Scott Schultz officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be held in the Old Zion Cemetery, Ansonville, PA
