Obituary for Margaret Jean Orr
Margaret Jean "Aunt Jean" Orr, 81 of Curwensville, passed away Friday July 14, 2017 at Marion Manor Personal Care Home in Curwensville.
Born March 21, 1934 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of William J. and Zelda (Haupt) Orr. Miss Orr had first been employed by the former MacGregor Sportswear in Clearfield for 19 years until its closing, followed by 20 years at the former Clearfield Cheese Co. in Curwensville until it closed, and lastly had worked for Clearfield County in the courthouse as a receptionist for 17 years until her retirement in 2010.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, the Lady Emily Rebekah Lodge # 451 and formerly the Aster Rebekah lodge # 177 where she served Noble Grand and District Deputy President; Juniata Valley Court #121 formerly DuBois Court #42 Order of the Amaranth where she had served as Royal Matron and District Deputy; Grove City Shrine #53 formerly DuBois Shrine #11 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem where she served as Worthy High Priestess; and was a member of the Curwensville Alumni Association where she served as Past President and was currently Reservations Chairperson.
Surviving is a sister-in-law Dodie (Ward) Spencer of Grampian; nieces and nephews Joyce Orr, Susie Orr Carter and Billy Orr all of Texas; Jimmy Orr, Ted Orr and Stephen Orr if Oregon; Bobbi Spencer and Alan Spencer and wife Lori both of Grampian; and Scott Orr of Cleveland, OH. Also surviving are Great Niece and Great Nephew Tina Fleming and husband Jim and Daren Pentz and wife Carrie both of Grampian; and several Great Great Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded om death by her parents and three brothers William, Harold and James Orr. She was the last member of her generation.
Funeral Services for Jean Orr, will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday July 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Ethan Shearer officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 2:00 PM.
