Born February 5, 1931 in Pike Township, she was the daughter of Harold and Irene (McMasters) Wink. Mrs. Wingard had been employed by Kent Sportswear and also Curwensville True Value. She also participated in the Curwensville Town Choir and the former Community Care Group of Ridgeview Health Care.
In addition, she was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the fellowship hall kitchen committee, was a Eucharistic minister, was the Sacristan for the church, sang in the church choir, was a CCD teacher, was a First Holy Communion Sponsor and was a member of the church’s Relay For Life Team.
In April of 1949 she wed Mervin Wingard who preceded her in death in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three sons: Tommy Wingard and Terry Wingard and wife Debra both of Curwensville and Tobey Wingard and partner Brenda of Shawville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: T.J. Wingard and wife Christie of DuBois, Mandy Woolevich and husband Brian of Millvale, Lacy Garber and husband Aaron of Trafford and Ashley Wingard of Shawville; and nine great grandchildren: Anna, Trey, Emily, Daniel, Jonathon, Claire, Levi, Elijah and Orion.
In addition, she is survived by two brothers Blair Wink and wife Kay of Curwensville and Charles “Chuck” Wink and wife JoAnn of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday January 6 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday from 9 until 10:30 AM, when the procession will depart for the church.
The Rosary will be recited by members of St. Timothy Altar and Rosary Society Friday afternoon at 1:45 PM and a Scripture Vigil Services will be conducted at 7:45 PM Friday both at the funeral home.
