Obituary for Marian B. Schalk
Marian B. Schalk 91 of Curwensville passed away Tuesday April 29, 2014 at Penn Highlands Dubois Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

Born November 12, 1922 in Curwensville she was the daughter of William J. and Elizabeth (Sandri) Bartell. She was a homemaker and was retired from the Curwensville Area School District as payroll clerk. She was a girl scout leader and was a member of the Curwensville Alumni Association where she served as long time reservation chairperson for the association.

On October 15, 1947 she wed Albert Clyde Schalk Jr. who preceded her in death in 1963. She was also was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Dick Bartell and his twin sister Dorothy Briggs and another sister Melva Shick, and a son-in-law William Wingard

She is survived by 3 daughters Betsy Swanson and husband Bill of Carlisle, Susan Wingard of Curwensville, and Joyce Shirley and husband Dan of Indiana. 6 grandchidlren Lori Swanson, Bill Swanson and wife Erin, Brian Wingard and  wife Laura, Kris Wingard, Scott Shirley, and Lisa Shirley. Also surviving is a sister in law Colene Bartell of Bemus Point NY, a cousin Carolyn Rowles and husband Hildred of Curwensville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

At the request of Mrs. Schalk there will be no public viewing or services. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
