Mary Ann Brock
DuBois: Mary Ann Brock, 85, of Curwensville passed away peacefully in her sleep January 2, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born November 26, 1940 in Grampian she was the daughter of Anthony J. and Helen M. (Sass) Polites. She was a 1959 graduate of Curwensville Area High School. She had worked at Clearfield Cheese, and was an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 30 years.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She believed deeply in her catholic faith. She loved to socialize and had numerous friends. She was a joyful soul
On December 30, 1961 at St. Bonaventure Church in Grampian she wed Joseph E. Brock who survives of Curwensville, along with four daughters Susan Pitrone and her husband Larry Martinson of DuBois, Nancy Blackburn (Scott) of Marron, Sharon Nilson (Tim) of Snow Shoe, and Dawn Smeal of Schuylkill Haven. Grandchildren Gionna Pitrone, Vincent Pitrone fiancée (Giovanna Ferri), Nicholas (Ashley) Pitrone, Alexander (Shannon) Nilson, Erin (Ethan) Nilson-Confer, Anthony Brock, Harley Brock companion(Cameron Gates), Kali Davis (Jack) and Steven Blackburn (Becky). Great Grandchildren Bryson, Camille, Willow, Lumina, and Josh. And numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son SFC Joseph A. Brock, brothers and sisters Phyllis Leasgang, Joseph Polites, William Polites, Anthony Polites, Dorothy Johnston, Ramona Teklinsky, Shirley Polites, and James Polites.
She was the last member of her generation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11 AM with Very Reverend John J. Detisch, V.F. as celebrant. Interment will be held in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery at a later date.
Family and friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday January 8, 2026 from 3-6 PM.
