Obituary for Mary Jane Collins
Mary Jane Collins passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2013 in Cartersville, Ga. She was born on Apr 10, 1922 in Barnesboro, Pa to Guiseppe & Maria Corio. In 1947 she married John Collins and moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971.
Through the years she was employed at Sears Dept Store, Niagara University and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where she retired from in 1983. In 1994, she moved to Georgia with her family. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing many beautiful clothes for her family and friends. She was proud to say she made all the custom window treatments for the homes of her daughter, granddaughter and granddaughter in law. Often she would create the pattern herself. She also enjoyed crocheting and welcomed each new baby to the family with their own sweater sets. She will be remembered by her friends for the many fun trips she organized. She loved traveling, having been to Italy and on several Caribbean cruises. In recent years, she enjoyed trips to Hilton Head with her family.
She was extremely proud to say she had 6 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Jack) Edwards, her grandson, Joshua (Jennifer) Morreale, granddaughter, Courtney (Scott) Kelly, her great grandchildren, Kennedie Anne Morreale, Joshua Maguire Morreale, twins Ireland Hannah & London Mary Morreale, Kade Emmett Kelly and Rennen Collins Kelly, all of Georgia. Her sister, Katie Gerlesky of Olanta, Pa. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Sarah, Anne, Minnie, and Agnes and brothers, Jack , Frank , Louis, Anthony and Charles (Nunzio).
Visitation will be at the Chidboy Funeral Home in Curwensville, Pa., on Sunday, Jan 13th. Burial will be next to her husband at Mt Zion Cemetary, Olanta, Pa, on Monday, Jan. 14th.
