Obituary for Mary Kathryn Walburn
Mary Kathryn (Sunderlin) Walburn, 89, a resident of Christ The King Manor in DuBois, and formerly of Grampian, passed away Tuesday morning January 1, 2013 at the manor.

Born August 26, 1923 in Mahaffey, PA, she was the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Bennett) Sunderlin. Mrs. Walburn was a homemaker and had also worked for Brockway Glass and B F Goodrich Tire Co. She was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren, Grampian, was a Grampian Lions Club Lioness, and was a member of the former GFWC Grampian Woman’s Club.

On June 17, 1943 in Frankfort, KY she wed Franklin E. Walburn who survives along with 3 children. C. JoAnn Ferringer of New Bethlehem, PA, Jack Arthur Walburn of Danville, PA, and Thomas E. Walburn and wife Cheryl of Greencastle, PA. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Joseph and Clayton Sunderlin, a sister Martha Babb, and an infant sister Elma Sunderlin. She was the last member of her generation.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walburn will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Saturday January 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Dale Rummel officiating. Interment will be in the Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday January 4 from 3 to 5 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM until time of services.
