Obituary for Maude Evelyn London
Maude Evelyn London, 92, of Grampian, passed away Wednesday November 2, 2011 at her residence.

Born July 15, 1919 in Hepburnia, she was the daughter of Howard I. and Roxie (Orcutt) Spencer. Mrs. London had worked for Brockway Glass, the former Kent Sportswear in Curwensville, and was retired from the former Superior Pet Products in Curwensville. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian and was a former member of the GFWC Grampian Women’s Club.

On December 10, 1938 she wed Elmer L. London who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister Veryl Conrad, and 3 brothers Howard I. Jr., Emory, and Melvin Spencer. She was the last member of her generation.

Surviving are 5 children: Norma Simbeck and her husband Tom of Grampian, Joan Deitrich and her husband Robert and Edward London and his wife Barbara both of Curwensville, Boyd London and his wife Judy of Charlotte, NC, and Kenneth London and his wife Patty of DuBois.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Maude E. London will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Sixth St. Grampian, on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Friday November 4 from 2 to 8 PM, and Saturday from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM when the procession will depart for the church.
