Orville “Jerry” O’Dell


Curwensville: Orville “Jerry” O’Dell, 85, of Curwensville went to his heavenly home on Sunday October 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.


Born January 30, 1939 in Curwensville he was the son of William H. and Ural Alfretta (Middleton) O’Dell. He was a United States Navy veteran where he was a plumber and damage control on the USS Yosemite AD-19. He also volunteered with the Association for Handicapped Children for 5 years, and Caring and Sharing for Kids for the past 20 years.


He worked at the CCCTC in the maintenance department and also did maintenance at the Clearfield County Housing Authority. He also worked at TAFCO for 20 plus years. He also enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors and crafting with his wife.


Surviving is his wife of 40 years Elva “Jean” O’Dell of Curwensville, Children: Jim O’Dell significant other Lynette of Millvale, PA, Curt Queen (Shamrock), Mark Queen (Fran) all of Irvona, Ivan Queen of Levittown, George Queen (Paula) of Clearfield, Ron Queen Sr. (Laura) of Curwensville, Barb O’Dell of Clearfield, Betty Green (Lee) of Irvona, Marian Queen significant other Eric Shaw of Grampian. 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren. And best friends John Yatsko and George Miller.


He was preceded in by his parents, a daughter Tracey O’Dell, granddaughter Carolyn Ball, and a great grandson Jacob Ball. And his beloved dog Bindy.


Funeral Services for Jerry O’Dell will be held on Friday Nov 1, 2024 at 10 AM with Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Clearfield Honor Guard.


Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Thursday October 31, 2024 from 5-8 PM and on Friday from 9 AM till the time of services at 10 AM.


The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
