Richard K. “Dick” Shimel
Curwensville: Richard K. “Dick” Shimel 78, of Curwensville passed away Friday January 27, 2023.
Born March 24, 1944 in Clearfield he was the son of Richard and Edna (Bloom) Shimel. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Kurtz Bros. in Clearfield after 40 years of service. He was a member of Cherry Corner Bible Church.
On May 10, 1968 in Bells Landing he wed Donna (Passmore) Shimel who survives along with 3 children Tina Shimel and her significant other Bill Mauthe of Sebula, Tracey Strong (Joe) of Curwensville, and Scott Shimel of Sunbury, PA. 3 grandchildren Amber Strong, Courtney Owen (Sean), and Egan Shimel. 2 great grandchildren Cassidy Owen and Davin Owen. A sister Joanne Magnuson of Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Alicia Strong.
At the request of Mr. Shimel there will be no public services. Private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at Watts Cemetery with Pastor George Solley officiating.
