Richard L. “Rich” Mahlon
Vandergrift: Richard L. “Rich” Mahlon 70 of Vandergrift passed away Friday February 16, 2024 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born January 4, 1954 in Clearfield he was the son of James and Mildred (Spencer) Mahlon. He had worked at Jackson China in Reynoldsville and retired from Rescar Inc in DuBois after 30 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Loved motorsports and his dog Kane.
On May 20, 1995 in Clearfield he wed Teresa (Williams) Mahlon who survives of Vandergrift, 3 children Peggy Daughtery (John) Edward Boop (Candis) all of Vandergrift, and Steven Boop (Amy) of West Deer Township. 9 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Sisters Jackie Cramer (Leroy) of Lutersburg, Vesta Haney of Grampian, brothers James Mahlon of Morrisdale, Terry Mahlon (Melanie) and Craig Mahlon all of Grampian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step son Robert “Jim” Boop, brothers and sisters William Pursely, Carol Johnson, Marilyn Weber, and Thomas Mahlon.
Family and friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home , Inc of Curwensville on Sunday February 18, 2024 from 2-4 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Orphans of Storm 412 Hill Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
