Obituary for Robert LeRoy Michaels
Robert LeRoy Michaels 78 of Glen Richey passed away Thursday June 16, 2016 at Ridgeview HealthCare and Rehab Center after a brief illness.
Born March 11, 1938 in Lumber City, PA, he was the son of Howard and Vivian (Ramaley) Michaels. Mr. Michaels was a Tool and Die Maker having first worked for Harbison-Walker Refractories until their plant closing and then had worked for FCI/DuPont/Berg Electronics in Clearfield until his retirement.
Mr. Michaels was a member of the Glen Richey Sportsmen’s Club, was a former member of the Old Town Road Softball League, enjoyed playing golf and also enjoyed making and fixing golf clubs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and completely enjoyed the outdoors.
On August 22, 1959 he wed the former Beverly Ann Burnett who preceded him in death on December 26, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Willard J. “Jim” Michaels and John “Jack” Michaels.
Surviving are three children Robert S. Michaels and wife Kimberly of Clearfield and Michele L. Clark and husband David and Heather M. Condon and husband Mark both of Curwensville.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Seth Michaels and Sara Tubbs and husband Robbie both of Clearfield, Justine Clark and wife Carrie of Mt. Lebanon, and Hannah and Scott Condon of Curwensville, as well as five brothers and sisters. Wallace Michaels and wife Gaye of Orchid Park, NY, Dorce Michaels and wife Carole and Betty Test and husband J. Duane both of Curwensville, Gary Michaels and wife Janet of Grampian and Sally Barrett and husband Alvin of Clearfield.
Funeral Service for Mr. Michaels will be held at the Curwensville Alliance Church Susquehanna Avenue Curwensville on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Stephen Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery in Glen Richey, PA.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday June 20 from 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
The family suggests contributions be made to either DuBois Hospice 100 Hospital Avenue DuBois, PA 15801, or the American Cancer Society 26 S Second Street Clearfield, PA 16830
