Obituary for Ronald Richard Olson
Richard Olson 55, of Curwensville, passed away Friday November 27, 2009 at his residence.

Born April 27, 1954 in the Clearfield Hospital, he was the son of Richard “Dick”
and Joan (Fister) Olson.  Mr. Olson had worked in the Quality Control Department for the former DuPont/Berg/FCI Electronics in Clearfield.  He was a U S Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church where he was the choir director for many years, is a Resting Deacon and was a former trustee.

He was a former PIAA High School Basketball official, had coached Senior Little League and Little League All Stars, and was the official score keeper for the Curwensville Little League.

On October 11, 1975 in Curwensville, he wed the former Debra L. Tyler who survives along with his mother of Curwensville, and 3 sons.  Eric “Squig” Olson of Clearfield, Lenny Olson of Curwensville, and Michael Olson of Philipsburg.

Also surviving are grandchildren Alex, Madison, Elizabeth, Damon, and Emily as well as 2 sisters and a brother.  Becky Baroni and her husband Tom,  Jerry Olson and his wife Kim, and Lois Francisco and her husband Randy, all of Curwensville.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Robert Olson

Services for Mr. Olson, will be held at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church on Wednesday December 2, 2009 at 11:00 PM, with Mr. Gary B. Jewart officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Tuesday December 1 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 AM.
