Obituary for Rosalia "Rose" Stoyek
Rose Stoyek 81, of Curwensville passed away Sunday October 3, 2010 at the Clearfield Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born June 29, 1929 in Rossiter, PA she was the Daughter of John and Rosalia (Zorecheck) Cekovsky. She was co-owner of Western Auto & True Value of Curwensville for 35 years. She was a member of the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville where she was a current member of the Altar & Rosary Society.Â
On April 24, 1954in Rossiter, PA she wed Edward Stoyek who survives along with 2
children Deborah Stoyek and her partner Beth Herr of Harrisburg, and Gary Stoyek and his wife Ellen of Curwensville. 4 grandchildren Megan Hoover and her husband Cory of Clearfield, Katie Stoyek of MD, Dakota and Corey Herr both of Harrisburg. A sister Julie Kopas of Easton and a Brother Michael Cekovsky of Punxsutawney.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Cekovsky and sisters Mary Merince and Betty Cekovsky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Wednesday October 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Father Mark Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery in Dubois.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Tuesday October 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9 AM till the time of service at 11 AM. The rosary will be recited at 3 PM and the Scripture service will be at 3:30 PM both at the Funeral Home.
The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy’s Catholic Church 306 Walnut St. Curwensville, PA 16833.
