Obituary for Russell W. Harman
Russell W. Harman Jr., 79, of Lumber City, passed away Sunday October 13, 2013 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
 
Born August 9, 1934 in Curwensville, he was the son of Russell W. Sr. and Leafy (Dutry) Harman.  Mr. Harman was retired from Kurtz Brothers in Clearfield after 43 years of service.  He was a veteran of the U S Army in the Vietnam era.  He was a member of St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church in Grampian, and recently was attending the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City.
 
On September 23, 1967, in Winchester, VA, he wed the former Martha Louise Clapsaddle who preceded him in death on September 22, 2009.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son John Hensley in 2010, a granddaughter Crystal Bloom in 2004, 2 brothers George and Cortez Harman, and 3 sisters Catherine Sanders, Marie Yingling, and Dorothy “Dottie” Aronholt.
 
Surviving are his longtime caregiver and daughter-in-law Joan Hensley of Olanta, a son Edward Hensley and wife Sandy of Ephrata, a daughter Susan Breth and husband John of New York, and sons Randy Harman of Florida and Greg Harman and wife Louisa and Jeff Harman both of Broadbrook, CT.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister Gwendolyn Klaczik of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
 
Graveside Services for Mr. Harman will be held in the Chapel of St. Bonaventure’s Cemetery in Grampian on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Scott Schultz officiating.  Interment will follow in the cemetery.  Military Honors will be accorded at the Chapel by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
