Obituary for Ruth Ann Jones
Ruth Ann Jones, 69, of Chester Hill, and formerly of Clearfield, passed away Monday evening January 4, 2010 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born July 5, 1940 in Grampian, she was the daughter of John Henry and Myrtle Ruth (Passmore) Matthews. She had been employed by the former Prave’s Hair Salon in Clearfield and was affiliated with the Grampian Church of God.
Surviving is a daughter Jamie Penrod and her husband John of Winburne, a foster daughter Donna Henry Hughes of Clearfield, 2 grandchildren Laura and Chris Shirey, 2 brothers and a sister. Howard Mathews and his wife Dolly of Morgantown, WV, John “Jack” Mathews and Mae Maderia and her husband Gust Jr. both of Grampian. She is also survived by her significant other Edward Troy of Chester Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Dannette Sue Jones, brothers Amos and James Matthews, and a sister Mary Block.
A Memorial Service for Ruth Jones will be held at the Grampian Church of God on Sunday March 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM. with the Reverend Gust Maderia Jr. officiating.
Friends will be received at the church from 1:30 PM until time of services.
