Obituary for Ruth Ann Sheeder
Ruth Ann (Rhodes) Sheeder, 66, of LaJose, passed away Tuesday January 26, 2021 at UPMC Magee Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born on September 28, 1954 in Ridgeway the daughter of Leonard and Lois (Houggy) Rhodes. She had been employed first by Fayette Resources for seventeen years and then Marion Manor PCH for eleven years.
Ruth Ann was a lifetime member of the Mahaffey VFW Auxiliary and was a member of the Secretary/treasurer of the Susquehanna Valley Rod and Gun Club. She spent countless hours volunteering to help others. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, shopping and bingo.
Surviving is her husband of 47 years Donald “Jake” Sheeder who she wed on October 13, 1973 in Portland Mills, PA, a son Bryan Sheeder and wife Kelly of Mahaffey; and grandchildren Destiny and Jay Puit of Mahaffey.
Also surviving are brothers Howard Rhodes and wife Christine of Brookville and Lynn Rhodes and significant other Beth of Ridgway; brothers-in-law Joseph Sheeder and wife Phyllis of Erie, William Sheeder and wife Peggy of Erie and James Turner and wife Linda of Mahaffey; and sister-in-law Patricia Turner of LaJose, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Edward Sheeder; sister-in-law’s Becky Rhodes and Cheryl Weller; and mother/father-in-law’s Erma and Rex Turner and William Sheeder.
Friends and Family will be received on Saturday January 30, 2021 at the Mahaffey Fire Hall from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM to Celebrate the Life of Ruthie.
