Obituary for Sally Ann Michaels Barrett
Sally Ann Michaels Barrett, 72, of Clearfield, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at Penn Highlands Hospital – DuBois.
Born August 15, 1948 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Vivian (Remaley) Michaels. Mrs. Barrett had been a secretary for both the former NARCO Plant in Curwensville and the Office of Domestic Relations for Clearfield County.
She was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church and the International Secretary Association.
On August 30, 1985, she wed Alvin W. “Al” Barrett who survives along with a stepdaughter Alice Ostermeyer and husband Curtis of Fort Wayne, IN, 2 grandchildren, a great grandchild, a sister and two brothers: Betty Test and husband Duane of Curwensville, Gary Michaels and wife Janet of Grampian and Dorce Michaels and wife Carole of Curwensville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by four brothers: Wallace, Willard “Jim”, John “Jack”, and Robert “Bob”.
In lieu of the flowers, the family suggests any memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter * 2835 Carson Street, Suite #200 * Pittsburgh, PA 15203, the Clearfield County SPCA * 275 21st Street * Clearfield, PA 16830, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
A Celebration of Life Service for Sally Barrett will be held at the Curwensville Community Center * 11 Stadium Drive * Curwensville on Sunday June 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Gary B. Jewart officiating.. A Butterfly Release will be held immediately following the service.
