Obituary for Sara Catherine Johnson
Sara Catherine Johnson, 84, of Grampian, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 11, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 17, 1927 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Anthony H. “Pete” and Caroline Grace (Korb) LaRock. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was a member of the Cherry Corner Bible Church.
On November 11, 1945 in Clearfield, PA, she wed Lawrence B. Johnson who preceded her in death on June 28, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Alyce Scipione and Mary Mays, and a brother Howard LaRock.
Surviving are 5 children: Norman M. “Mick” Johnson and his wife Susan of Grampian, Leslie Johnson and his wife Deborah and Anthony L. “Tony” Johnson and his wife Susan both of Mahaffey, Annette M. Bradshaw and her husband Jeff of Saegertown, PA, and Darlene K. Peters and her husband John of Hebron, Ind.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 brothers. William “Bill” LaRock of Erie, and Robert LaRock and his wife Veronica and George E. LaRock and his wife Joyce, both of Curwensville.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday May 13, 2011 at 11 AM, with the Reverend George W. Solley officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery Grampian, PA
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday May 12, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM, and Friday from 9:30 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Cherry Corner Bible Church.
