DuBois: Shirley A. Thurstin, 88, of Curwensville passed away Monday April 7, 2025 at The Fountains at DuBois.
Born September 26, 1936 in DuBois she was the daughter of Clair and Emma (Wingert) Marshall. She had worked for Clearfield Cheese Company.
She enjoyed the beach and the sound of the waves. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved her family.
She is survived by 3 children Randall Thurstin (Cheri) of Curwensville, Michelle Chalker (Scott) of Binghamton, NY, and Joseph “Joe” Thurstin (Darby) of Wellsboro, PA. 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. And a brother Bill Marshall of DuBois.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. “Jack” Thurstin on December 14, 2023; and a daughter Marcia Thurstin. And brothers Lynn, Orville, Marlin, Keith, Neil Marshall, and sisters Donna Tyler, and Gloria Leddy.
Funeral services for Shirley Thurstin will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Monday April 14, 2025 at 1 PM with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday April 14, 2025 from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM.
