Obituary for Shirley Louise Williams Gunter
Shirley Louise Williams Gunter, 55, of Morrisdale, passed away early Sunday Morning December 26, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born February 21, 1966 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of William Charles Sr. “Bill” and Barbara Ann “Barb” (Merrifield) Williams. Shirley was the Manager in the Kitchen Department of the Clearfield County Jail.
She was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, a graduate of Penn State DuBois with an Associate Degree Forestry and Wildlife Management and received a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Argosy University in Atlanta, GA. She was affiliated with the Salem United Methodist Church in West Decatur.
Surviving is a son Mark W. Hess and his Fiancée Toni DeScala of Ridgway, her Fiancée Brock Buck of Morrisdale, and two grandsons Gavin and Grayson Hess.
Also surviving are four siblings: William C. “Bill” Williams Jr. and wife Shelia of Curwensville, Beverly A. Lawhead and husband William “Fritz” of Hyde, Timothy R. “Tim” Williams and his significant other Kathy Nudge of Osceola Mills, and Heather M. Williams and her significant other Eldon McClarren of West Decatur as well as ten nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons Logan and John Hess; her paternal grandparents Austin H. “Joe” and E. Maude (Shaw) Williams; and her maternal grandparents D. Clayton and Ella Mae (Barger) Merrifield.
Funeral Services for Shirley Williams Gunter will be held at the Salem United Methodist Church * Salem Road * West Decatur, PA on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Brian McTavish officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at Noon.
