Terry L. Bloom
Philipsburg: Terry L. Bloom, 86, a guest of Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill of Philipsburg passed away Thursday April 23, 2026 after a brief illness.
Born April 25, 1939 in New Millport he was the son of Ardeth A. and Geraldine A. (Cross) Bloom. He graduated in 1957 from Curwensville Area High School. He served his country with United States Navy and the United States Naval Reserves.
He had worked for Howes Leather in the maintenance department and retired after 35 years as maintenance supervisor. He was also a licensed barber and worked actively for over 50 years as a barber.
He was a member of the former Salem Lutheran church, attended the Olanta Lutheran Church, and recently attended St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church.
He was active with the Kerrmoor Grange, and was also on the Curwensville Days Committee where he was a past president. He was past member of the Third Ward Hose Company in Clearfield.
He is survived by six children Paula J. Thorp husband Chris of Hepburnia, Michael V. Bloom wife Gwen of Clearfield, Gary L. Bloom wife Kim of Mooresville, NC, Susan G. Kephart husband Doug Sr. of Glen Richey, Jason L. Bloom wife Tess of Julian, and Daniel A. Bloom wife Susie of Bowling Green, OH. Thirteen Grandchildren, Seventeen Great Grandchildren. His second wife Rose Bloom of Clearfield whom he wed on June 15, 2024 at St. Timothy Church in Curwensville. Step children Douglas Bloom wife Cindy of Mechanicsburg, Wendy Witherow husband Craig of Curwensville, Kenneth Bloom of Warminster, PA, Shari Brown of San Diego, CA, and Shannon Bailor husband Marlin of Richfield, OH. Eighteen step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren. Brother and sister Rodney B. Bloom wife Ruthann of Olanta, Cherie London husband Gary of New Millport. Sister-In-Law Roxie Bloom of Clearfield, and brother-in-law Ken Jordan of TX.
On February 21, 1960 he wed his first wife Patricia (Neal) Bloom who preceded him in death on November 6, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Wava Jordan, and brothers Donald “Ardie” Bloom, and Richard “Dick” Bloom.
Funeral services for Terry Bloom will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Wednesday April 29, 2026 at 11 AM with Pastor Ed Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the Funeral Home by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday April 28, 2026 from 5-7 PM. And on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org, or the Olanta Lutheran Church, 9455 Curwensville Tyrone Hwy, Olanta, PA 16863.
