Obituary for Verna Catherine "Honey" Round
Verna Catherine “Honey” Round, 93, of Erhard, passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born December 25, 1927 in Glen Hope, she was the daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Fulmer) Mann. Mrs. Round was a homemaker, and had also worked as a school bus driver and at the former Malinky Nursery. She was a member of the Oak Ridge Union Church in McCartney.
On November 4, 1944 in Irvona, she wed Grant Richard “Buster” Round who preceded her in death on May 30, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Wilma Lee “Tuey” White; two sons: Joseph Round (infant) and James Edward “Pooz” Round; three brothers: Les, Tom, and Bernard; and four sisters: Hazel, Margaret, Dorothy, and Madiline.
Surviving is a son Terry G. Round and wife Judy of Erhard; a daughter-in-law Carol Round of Curwensville; six grandchildren: Chrisy Rumsky and husband Jeff, Terry S. “Tee” Round and wife Colleen, Jami Round, Jimmy Round, Mickey White and husband Tod Smith, and Nicole Milner and husband Jeff; seven great grandchildren: Kirsten Durandetta, Brent Durandetta; Taylor Round, Jared Round, Krista Bortot and husband Chad, Jordan Round and Grant Milner; and five great great grandchildren: Aevril Hayward, Teaguen Hayward, River Hayward, Addy Bortot and Alayna Bortot.
Funeral Services for Verna Round will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday June 26, 2021 at 12:00 Noon, with the Reverend Michael Knepp officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery New Millport.
Family and Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at Noon.
