Obituary for Virginia Rose "Ginny" Ross
Virginia Rose “Ginny” Ross 85, of Mt Joy, Clearfield, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2010 at the Ridgeview Eldercare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, after a lengthy illness.

Born August 21, 1924 in Cresson, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Gaynor) Stumpf.  Mrs. Ross was a homemaker, was a member of the Clearfield Free Methodist Church, the Mt Joy Grange, and the Patriotic Order of Americans.

She wed Chester Ross who survives along with 3 sons.  Donald Ross and his wife Mary of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Robert Ross and his wife Pamela of Kansas City, MO, and Lawrence Ross and his wife Diane of Reading, PA.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister and 2 brothers.  Joan Shrenkel and her husband Robert of St. Boniface, Henry Stumpf and his wife Gertrude and Joseph Stumpf and his wife Dorothy both of Hastings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kenneth, John, and Theodore Stumpf and sisters Mary Nagle and Margaret Coppock.

Services for Mrs. Ross will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday February 26, 2010 at 2 PM, with the Reverend Joel Leininger officiating.  Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday February 25, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM, and Friday from Noon until time of services.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Nathaniel Yingling Cancer Center  P.O. Box 992  Clearfield, PA  16830.
