Obituary for Walter Scipione
Walter Scipione, 98, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday November 17, 2018 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born March 11, 1920 in Curwensville, he was the son of John and Delphina (Pent) Scipione. Mr. Scipione was retired as a mail carrier for the USPS in the Curwensville Office. He was a U S Army Veteran of World War II, a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, a Life member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. in Curwensville and a member of the Clearfield SOI (Sons of Italy),
On August 2, 1943 in Clearfield, he wed the former Alyce Mae LaRock who preceded him in death on December 24, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Laura Irwin and a brother Elmo Scipione. He was the last member of his generation.
Surviving are 4 children: Ronald J. Scipione, Susan G. Marino and her significant other Charles Moore and Walter Scott Scipione and his wife Bonnie all of Curwensville and John Lynn Scipione and wife Cheryl of State College. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday November 24, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Private Graveside Services for Walter Scipione will be held in the chapel of the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville, at the convenience of the family with Pastor Ethan Shearer officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville United Methodist Church Youth Group 602 State Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
