William A. “Bill” Stadtmiller
Curwensville: William A. “Bill” Stadtmiller 70, of Curwensville passed away Sunday July 27, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born October 21, 1943 in Shawnee Oklahoma, he was the son of Wiliam A. and Jane Catherine (McNaul) Stadtmiller. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He received a DR. of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer Chiropractic School in Davenport Iowa, and also received a Bachelor of Science Degree from I.U.P. He was a rural mail carrier for the USPS where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a Member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Chapter where he served at Faithful Navigator for the 4th Degree Knights. Former member of the Curwensville American Legion Post 505, Curwensville VFW Post 842, was a charter member of the Clearfield Model Railroad Club and was an avid golfer.
On June 18, 1977 at St. Timothy’s R.C.C. in Curwensville he wed Lois Ann McGee who survives along with 2 daughters Michelle Nutt and her husband S. Allen of Hanover, PA, and Sharon Stadtmiller of Curwensille and her Fiancee’ Jason Vogel of Altoona. 2 grandsons Andrew Scott and Ethan Michael Nutt both of Hanover. A brother Dr. Richard Stadtmiller of Morgantown, WV, and a sister Rebecca Anderson of Curwensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a step mother Betty Mallon Stadtmiller.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 31, 2014 at 10 AM with Father Mark Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensvile on Wednesday July 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 9 AM till 9:45 AM when the procession will depart for the church. The rosary will be said at 3 PM and a scripture vigil service at 8 PM both on Wednesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Father McKee Scholarship Fund in care of St. Timothy’s Church 306 walnut street Curwensville, PA 16833.
