William L. Kelly Sr. 93 of Clearfield passed away Thursday February 20, 2014 at Dubois Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Born August 2, 1920 in Clearfield he was the son of Lincoln M. and Lottie Mae (Dent) Kelly. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed by Harbison Walker for 35 years and also was a Lawrence Township Police Officer for numerous years, served 4 years as Clearfield County Constable, and worked for the Clearfield Area School District as a custodian, and also was employed by Wal-Mart as a door greeter. He was a member of the Patriotic Order of Americans, Mt. Joy Grange, Lawrence Twp. # 1 Fire Company, and the Civilian Conservation Corp. Â

He is survived by 4 children William L. Kelly Jr., Deborah J. Hill and her husband Harry all of Clearfield, James E. Kelly and his wife Patricia of Ringgold, GA, and Robert L. Kelly and his wife Patricia of Brockport.Â

Also surviving is a daughter-in-law Irene Kelly of Bells Landing, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a brother Ronald Kelly and his wife Arvilla of Woodland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret M. Kelly whom he wed on August 9, 1941 in Burham, PA and preceded him in death on February 7, 2012, a son John E. Kelly, a daughter-in-law Judith Kelly, 2 granddaughters Colena Gay Kelly, and Kristen Kelly Hill, a brother Hobert Kelly, and a sister Virginia Shaffer

At the request of Mr. Kelly there will be no public visitation or services. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
