Obituary for William LeRoy Spaid
William LeRoy Spaid, 95, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday December 5, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.

Born December 22, 1922 in LaJose, he was the son of Guy Edward and Ethel Irene (Michael) Spaid. Mr. Spaid had first worked for the Sanitary Milk Co. for 36 years, then worked or the Sanidairy Milk Co. for 7 years, followed by the Hoover Dairy Co. for 5 years as a milk delivery person and then had worked for the Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. of Clearfield, in the Custodian Department and retired after 15 years of service.

He was a U S Army Veteran of the Second World War serving in the 7th Armored Division, was a member of the Coalport VFW and had attended the Clearfield Alliance Church.

On June 20, 1946 in Irvona, he wed the former Matilda Mae O’Shell who preceded him in death on October 19, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents a brother Raymond “Mickey” Spaid and 2 sisters Helen Gallagher and Sara Bell Leamer.

Surviving are 3 children: Gerald W. Spaid and wife Debra of Coalport, Nancy Johnston and husband James of Grampian and Jeffrey D. Spaid and wife Susan of Curwensville Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a brother Kenneth Spaid of Curwensville, a sister Betty Lou Kuntzman and her significant other James Cathcart of LaJose and a sister-in-law Delores “Dee” Spaid of Grampian.

Funeral Services for William Spaid will be held at the Curwensville Alliance Church Susquehanna Avenue Curwensville on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Thompsontown, PA.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday December 7 from 5 to 8 PM and again at the Church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Coalport VFW.
