Obituary for Winona M. McCracken
Winona M. McCracken, 92, of Clearfield, passed away Wednesday evening March 21, 2018 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born January 13, 1926 in Burnside, she was the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Smith) Mitchell. Mrs. McCracken was a teacher, nurse, and had owned and operated Ardell’s Book Store in Clearfield. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Golden Rod.
She had wed Ardell McCracken who preceded her in death in March of 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Lou Ellen Mitchell, a sister Frances Buchannon, and two brothers George and James Mitchell.
Surviving are two sons David A. McCracken and wife Lynda of Clearfield and Charles L. McCracken and wife Susan of Altoona. Also surviving are four grandchildren Dawn, Alec, Justice and Journey McCracken, three great grandchildren Andrew and Alan McCracken and Caleb Conklin, a sister Dorothy Pearce of Arizona as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation.
Funeral Services for Mrs. McCracken will be held at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Golden Rod, Clearfield on Sunday March 25, 2018 at 1:30 PM, with the Reverends Stephen DeSantis and Kenneth Leonard co-officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.
