Obituary for Woodrow Wilson Montgomery
Woodrow Wilson Montgomery, 97, of Clearfield, passed away Friday August 27, 2010 at the Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born June 10, 1913 in Berwinsdale, he was the son of Martin and Emma (Barto) Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was a coal miner, a woodman’s, and was retired from Wilkinson’s Subaru in Curwensville. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was protestant.
Surviving are 2 children Robert Montgomery and Bonnie Askey both of Clearfield. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Taylor Montgomery, Bobbi Young, Marsha Sartin and Glenna Gentzyel, 7 great grandchildren Michael Askey, James Ogden, Melissa Quickel, Matthew Lonjin, Molly Sartin, Jenna Nishida, and Brandon Nishida, and 1 great great granddaughter. He was the last member of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Roy, Paul, and Herman and 4 sisters Pearl, Dora, Doris, and Hazel.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Thompsontown, PA on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Rodger Gorton officiating. There will be no public visitation.
