Obituary for Edward Francis Rebon
Edward Francis Rebon, 85, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday March 28, 2012 at Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
 
Born February 2, 1927 in Olanta, he was the son of Robert and Agnes (Rackovan) Rebon.  Mr. Rebon owned and operated Rebon’s Heating and Plumbing until his retirement.  He was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, and was a U S Army Veteran of World War II.  He was an original member of the band called the “Hoedowners” for many years.  He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.
 
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #409 - Pope John Paul II Assembly #952.  He was a life member of the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Company, a member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M., the Curwensville VFW, and the Curwensville American Legion.
 
On November 28, 1953 in St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Houtzdale, he wed the former Eleanor Jean Lutz who survives along with a daughter Charlene J. Ogden and husband Daniel of Curwensville, a granddaughter Danielle V. Stephens and her husband Clint of Curwensville, and 2 great grandchildren Isabelle and Wyatt Stephens.
 
Also surviving are 2 sisters and a brother: Mary Kavala, Agnes “Bunny” Krolick, and Robert Rebon all of Curwensville.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Edward Robert Rebon in 1974, an infant sister Ann Rebon, and 2 brothers Albert and Joseph Rebon.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut St. Curwensville on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 9:30 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.  Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday March 30 from 4 to 9 PM, and again on Saturday from 8:30 until 9:15 AM, when the procession will depart for the church.
 
The Rosary will be recited by members of St. Timothy Altar and Rosary Society Friday at 3:45 PM, and a Scripture Vigil Services will be conducted at 8:30 PM Friday, both at the funeral home.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to either the Hospice “Circle of Friends” c/o 286 Pauline Drive Clearfield, PA 16830 or the Charity of the Donors Choice.
