Obituary for David Lee Gardner Sr.
David Lee Gardner Sr., 64, of Clearfield, passed away Monday July 18, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born August 1, 1946 in Philipsburg, he was the son of Walter A. and Hazel A. (Mann) Gardner. Mr. Gardner first worked for Harbison-Walker Refractories in Clearfield and then for DuPont in Clearfield then was a teacher/instructor for Fayette Resources for 19 years. He was Pentecostal by Faith.
Surviving is his mother of Niagara Falls, NY, his wife/partner the former Bonnie Jenkins of Clearfield, 2 children David L. Gardner Jr. and Traci Moore both of Clearfield, and 4 grandchildren Meggan Walls, Ryan Gardner, Samuel Gardner and Brett Gardner.
Also surviving are 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Walter “PeeWee” Gardner, Diane Gardner, Cathy Gardner and husband Joe, and Brenda Mitravich all of Niagara Falls, Beverly Kress and husband Jim of Lockport, NY, Robert Gardner and wife Rochelle and Frank Gardner and his wife DeAnn both of California.
He was preceded in death by his father, a grandson Tyler Moore, 2 sisters Darlene Sawyer and Karen Gardner, and an infant brother Jerry Gardner.
David loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports and he also loved his nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Gardner will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 12:00 Noon, with the Reverend Gary Zarr officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday July 30 from 10:00 AM until time of services at noon.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Curwensville Teener League Baseball program.
