Obituary for Carrie Louise Danvir
Carrie Louise Danvir 67, of Clearfield passed away Thursday December 2, 2010.
 
Born November 18, 1943 in Grampian she was the daughter of Edward B. and Ethel I. (Spencer) Danvir.  She was a 1961 graduate of Curwensville Area High School. She graduated from Clarion University in 1965 with a BS in English and from Penn State University in 1968 with a MA in English.  She was a Teacher of English for 13 years in Cleveland, Clearfield, and Tyrone School Districts.  She was a former member and Past President of Tyrone Education Association, and a member of the PSEA.  She was Co- Owner of Danvir’s Greenhouse where she lovingly served the Clearfield area with flowers and plants for nearly three decades before her retirement in 2008.

She is survived by her life partner Karen Humes of Clearfield, her father Edward B. Danvir and his wife Patricia of Gulf Shores, AL, a brother and 2 sisters.  Barbara Beish and her husband Preston of Grampian, Edward “Dan” Danvir Jr. and his wife JoAnne of New Mexico, and Deborah Cunningham and her husband Paul of Gibsonia, PA. Nieces and nephews Melanie Lenz and her husband Kurt of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Beish of Newburyport, MA, Amanda Greenland and her husband Brandon of Pittsburgh, Stacey Cunningham of NY, NY and Natalie Cunningham of Gibsonia, and a great-nephew Andrew Greenland of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at 2:30 PM.

Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM till the time of service at 2:30 PM.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society Clearfield Chapter 26 S. 2nd St. Clearfield, PA 16830, Orphans of the Storm c/o 412 Hill St. Curwensville, PA 16833, or to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
