Obituary for Rose Evaline Catino
Rose E. Catino, 92, of Curwensville, went to her eternal rest on Sunday March 21, 2010 at the Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.

Born October 4, 1917 Curwensville she was the daughter of Dominick and Anna (Test) Catino.  She worked 31 years for the former Target/Bayer Clothing company in the shipping and receiving department.  She was a member of the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville where she was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Community Care Group of Ridgeview Elder Care in Curwensville.

Rose lead a full and enjoyable life before her last illness and could always be found enjoying a game of bingo, playing the lottery, or be on one of her many gambling trips with her cousin and best friend Flora Yacabucci, “The inseparatable duo”.  “Ro-Ro” as she was known by those who knew and loved her, leaves behind many fond memories of all her nieces and nephews. Her little quirks & sayings and the tunes she would sing with her family, will forever play in their minds and hearts.  As we bid her farewell, we say “Que Sera Sera”.

She is survived by a brother Lynn Catino and his wife Laura of Kensington, MD, her nephew Edward Haversack and his wife Marlene of Laurel, MD as well as  numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is her nephew-in-law David Kephart Sr. who devoted his life to her care.

Born and raised on Bailey Road, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dominic Catino, Sisters Connie Catherman, Elizabeth Pyne, Josephine Kelly, Lenora Haversack, and a niece Edith “Mickey” Kephart.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Thursday March 25, 2010 at 10 AM with Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Wednesday March 24, 2010 from 6-9 PM and on Thursday from 9 -9:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.  The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM by members of St. Timothy’s Altar and Rosary Society and a Scripture Vigil Services will be conducted at 8:30 PM Wednesday, both at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice P.O. Box 992 Clearfield, PA 16830, St. Timothys Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA 16833, or the Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
